Pilot project 1 – carbon capturing

This is a pilot project to set up and test important carbon capturing processes, including the pre- and post-treatment of exhaust gases and the storage of CO₂ on a dual fuel marine diesel engine.

This is an R&D project to extract CO₂ from exhaust gases by pre-cleaning and post-treatment of the exhaust with a view to reducing harmful greenhouse gases in the maritime sector. The key issue here will be absorbing the CO₂ from marine diesel and large generator exhaust gases. It is absolutely imperative to clean the exhaust gases before CO₂ is extracted.

Given the fact that defossilization depends on using synthetic fuels and their processed derivatives, knowledge about the generation of carbon dioxide is of great economic value.
